A Christmas Carol was first published on 17 December 1843. It was written by Charles Dickens (1812-1870), a prolific and popular writer in Victorian era, the Great Britain. More than 5,000 copies were sold in less than 10 days! It has never been out of print since then. Many families read or re-read this classic during Christmas time.
